The Obama Inauguration

I am back from the Inauguration. It was a wonderful experience standing on the mall and listening to President Obama give his speech. Everyone I spoke to remarked about the electricity in the air. We had planned on doing several shows during the course of the 2 days that we spent in DC. It was not possible. Cell phones were not working and it was extremely cold. I will continue to post my thoughts here and we will do several shows this week to give you all a glimpse into what we experienced. The first Black President in the history of the United States has been elected and we were there for his historic inauguration. It was beautiful.

First thoughts

Everyone is excited. So many wearing Obama t-shirts. Taking
pictures. There is a wonderful joy in the air. I am pumped!

Saturday, January 17, 2009

I spent all day preparing for my trip to DC. Mateen and I met at Cabela's in Buda to get our outdoor gear. We remember how cold it was when we attended the Million March March in 1995 and this time we will be prepared. I spent any of my spare time watching the CNN coverage of the Obama Express. I also tested my microphone that I will be using to podcast for the show. Sunday I will pack and continue to prepare.

It is time.
